It’s a sad fact that once someone creates a profile on a job portal, s/he often gets the label “traitor” who is going to “run away”. But his/her motivation can be quite simple – to be in the picture, to know what positions or just technologies are currently in a trend, what salaries are offered and other information.

A potential user often abandons the intention to create a profile – precisely out of fear of revealing his/her identity. At Skilleto.cz, we fully understand these concerns and therefore, since the initial launch, we have come up with several mechanisms that help prevent similar unpleasant misunderstandings.

Interest in new job opportunities

We distinguish three possible levels of interest in new job opportunities:

• I’ll look but I promise nothing – this is the default level that will be set to your profile. It is quite eloquent: if you receive a job offer, then you will potentially look at it, but you do not promise to actively apply for it.
• Yes (looking for a job) – you are currently actively looking for a new job or contract.
• No (not looking for a job) – you are not looking for a new job or contract. If you receiver a job offer, then you will most likely reject it.

You can set the desired level for your profile in the Preferences section.

Privacy and anonymization

We always protect your contact details and stored documents (eg CV, cover letter, etc.). Only you can grant access to them. You can make your contact details available, for example, by expressing an interest in a job post: a job position you are interested in or a position that has been offered to you and you have accepted this offer. Stored documents are even more protected – you can grant access to them by attaching them to the message you are sending in the tender. In other circumstances, the stored documents are not accessible to anyone.

You can then optionally further anonymize other, potentially sensitive, data of your profile. Again, we offer three levels of anonymization:

1. none – Your profile will be displayed as you see it. This level is the default, we do not apply anonymization unless you wish.
2. partial – we will hide your surname (we will shorten it only to the initial – for example, instead of “John Newman” we will display only “John N.”), we will also hide your photo and company names from your work history.
3. full – everything as with partial anonymization and in addition we will hide your first name. Only the initials will remain. In the case of John Newman, only “J. N.”.

The profile anonymization level setting is available in the General Information section, there is also the option to display a profile preview with anonymization applied.
